This 5-day event will take place from Saturday, 06.09.2025 to Wednesday, 10.09.2025. It is composed of two parts:

  • 2- Day Weekend Workshop: A 5-DIMENSIONAL FLOW IMMERSION, from Saturday, 06.09.2025 to Sunday 07.09.2025 (every day from 8:00 to 15:45)
  • 3- Day In-Depth Workshop: A 5-DIMENSIONAL FLOW IMMERSION, from Monday, September 8, 2024, to Wednesday, September 10, 2024 (from 8:00 to 15:45 each day)

Event Description

Join us for a 5-day intensive workshop with Simon Borg-Olivier, MSc BAppSc (Physiotheraphy), APAM c-IAYT – internationally acclaimed teacher, author and co-founder of the Yoga Synergy method, integrating over 45 years of expertise in yoga, physiotherapy, anatomy, breathwork, qigong, and traditional movement systems.

A 5-Dimensional Flow Immersion offers a holistic approach that focuses on the synergy of movement, breath, awareness, and the physiology of the modern body. Each day, we will explore the main principles of 5-dimensional movement, designed to improve spinal health, initiate movement from the core, and master the subtle art of breathing less.

5 dimensions – 5 components

1. SPINAL SYNERGY: Emphasis on a natural, flowing and safe spine. Learn Simon’s unique Spinal Movements system to release tension, develop strength effortlessly, and maintain vitality through dynamic motion.

2. JOINT SYNERGY: Learn how to activate joints in a way that supports the whole system – enabling greater freedom of movement with less wear and tear. Explore the principles of “moving from the center” and safe joint mobility in your movement practice.

3. MIND SYNERGY: Cultivate awareness, focus, and presence through meditation in motion and stillness, mantra chanting, and subtle body sensing. Learn how attention can become your most powerful tool for embodied practice.

4. BREATH SYNERGY: Breathwork for the modern nervous system. Return to natural, slower breathing patterns. Learn to use breathing muscles effectively to breathe less, regenerating your system, boosting energy, and calming your body.

5. CORE SYNERGY: Move from your center – using inner currents of breath, pressure, and spiraling lines to generate effortless power. Learn how to activate deep muscles and connect your pelvic floor, diaphragm, and abdominal center.

 

5 DIMENSIONS = 5-D SYNERGY FLOW: A fully integrated practice that weaves all the elements together – synergy yoga, joint mobility, self-massage, breath techniques, guided instruction, music, mantras, and movement principles from qigong, martial arts, and traditional systems. 

 

As the workshop progresses, the practice will deepen and become more physically demanding. All techniques are adaptable to individual needs – variations, props, and chair-based practice will be available.

Who is this workshop for?

This immersion is open to dedicated practitioners, yoga teachers, as well as enthusiasts, beginners, or anyone who simply enjoys movement and wants to:

  • Understand the connection between breath, movement, and physiology.
  • Experience a safe, holistic and intelligent movement system.

The workshop will be held in English. Slovenian translations will be available for additional questions and clarifications.

Each day combines a deeply meditative morning practice containing fluid movement and internal techniques, followed by a deeper afternoon session exploring traditional yoga forms like asana, pranayama, and kriya through the Synergy System, integrating the morning flow, theory and therapeutic insight.

PART ONE (2-day workshop, Saturday–Sunday)

AFTERNOON (12:45–15:45):

  • Interactive lecture/workshop for morning practice: Yoga Kriya – the Basis of Hatha Yoga (1h)
  • Practice with verbal/visual instructions and music (1h)
  • Questions and final discussion (15 min)

SUNDAY, 7.9. (8:00–15:30): JOINT SYNERGY

MORNING (8:00–11:00):

  • Interactive lecture/workshop: Activation and Movement of Joints from the Core (1h 30 min)
  • Morning practice with verbal/visual instructions and music (1h 30 min)
  • Questions and discussion (30 min)

BREAK (11:00–12:45) +/or additional option: DISCUSSION – Paradigm Shifts when Learning Yoga for the Modern Body (11:45–12:45)

AFTERNOON (12:45–15:45):

  • Interactive lecture/workshop: Adapting Traditional Asanas, 5-D Flow for a Healthy Spine (1h 10 min)
  • Final afternoon practice with verbal/visual instructions and music (1h 30 min)
  • Questions and discussion (20 min)

PART TWO (3-day workshop / Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday)

  • Morning practice with verbal/visual instructions and music (1h 45 min)

BREAK (11:00–12:45) +/or additional option: DISCUSSION – Yoga superpowers and Simon’s influences (11:45–12:45)

AFTERNOON (12:45–15:45):

  • Interactive lecture/workshop: Movement from the Core (projection of movement, breath and resistance from the center of the body) (1h 30 min)
  • Afternoon practice (1h 20 min)
  • Questions and discussion (10 min)

TUESDAY, 9.9. (8:00–15:45): BREATH + CORE SYNERGY

MORNING (8:00–11:00):

  • Morning practice with visual instructions and music (2h)
  • Interactive lecture/workshop: Pranayama – How to Breathe Less (45 min)
  • questions and discussion (15 min)

BREAK (11:00–12:45) +/or additional option: DISCUSSION – Anatomy and Physiology in Yoga (how to teach yourself and others safely) (11:45–12:45)

AFTERNOON (12:45–15:45):

  • Interactive lecture/workshop: Core synergy – the Common Origin of all Natural Movements (1h 30 min)
  • Afternoon practice with visual instructions (1h 30 min)

WEDNESDAY, 10.9. (8:00–15:45): YOGA SYNERGY

MORNING (8:00–11:00):

  • Morning practice with visual instructions and music (2h 45 min)
  • Questions and discussion (15 min)

BREAK (11:00–12:45) +/or additional option: DISCUSSION – Advanced Asana and Long-term Goals (11:45–12:45)

AFTERNOON (12:45–15:45):

  • Visually instructed afternoon practice (2h 30 min)
  • Closing circle (30 min)

Important note

We recommend attending the entire event; the first part will serve as an introduction, and the second as a continuation. If you are an experienced practitioner, have worked with Simon before, and will have no trouble following the in-depth part of the event, you may register only for the second part. Otherwise, partial participation is only possible from the beginning of the event (e.g., first two days, only the first day, the first four days). Participants are invited to bring their own yoga mat, water bottle, blankets, cushions, etc.

Simon Borg Olivier

Who is Simon Borg Olivier?

Simon Borg-Olivier, MSc BAppSc (Physiotherapy) APAM c-IAYT, has been practicing traditional forms of posture, movement, breathing, and mental control for 50 years. He has been teaching for 40 years and has been a registered physiotherapist for 25 years. Simon works as a research scientist and a University lecturer. He has been regularly invited to teach about lifestyle, posture, movement, breathing, and meditation at conferences, festivals, and intensive teacher training courses internationally since 1990.

He is also co-director of YogaSynergy, one of Australia’s oldest and most respected yoga schools, which has a style based on a deep understanding of modern medical science and traditional forms of exercise and therapy from all over the world.
Simon has studied with great traditional masters from Tibet, Japan, India, and China. Along with his business partner and fellow physiotherapist, Bianca Machliss, Simon has co-authored many books and scientific articles including ‘Applied Anatomy and Physiology of Yoga’, which is the textbook for two courses they teach at RMIT University in Melbourne, Australia.

Currently, Simon conducts intensive training courses in India, Bali, Europe, and Australia. He also teaches many online courses on the applications of posture, movement, and breathing for fitness, internal health, wellbeing, and longevity.
